Italian Supreme Court Rules Cell Phones Can Cause Cancer

We here at tawkon are always quick to point out that, while there are studies that indicate there may be a correlation between certain cancers and cellphone uses, they are as of yet inconclusive. However, a recent occurrence may totally change the scientific view on this issue.

In a groundbreaking decision, the Italian Supreme Court recently ruled that an Italian businessman was allowed to request compensation from his employer due to a tumor he received from over usage of his cellphone.italian phone

The court found that the claim of Innocente Marcolini that the tumor he had removed was a direct result of his excessive phone use that was required for his job.

The court relied on independent research conducted by Lennart Hardell and his colleagues in Sweden, which showed consistent evidence of increased brain tumor risk associated with long-term mobile phone use.

The implications of this court ruling could be a “game-changer” for the mobile industry. While there are currently limits in place for radiation levels given off by phones, there is very little focus on this issue.

Do you think this case will open the floodgates and set a precedent for court cases that will acknowledge the dangers of cellphone radiation, or is it just a one off ruling that will be forgotten by the sands of time?

We all know that smartphones are a huge part of our lives, and most of us are not willing to give them up. With tawkon for Android you don't have to. You can talk all you want and tawkon will alert you when radiation levels spike, and suggest ways to lessen your exposure.
