With the rumors flying around, it seems like you could do (or not do) just about anything and lower (or raise) your sperm count.
One thing that is growing? The amount of research studying the possible effects of cell phone radiation on sperm count.
It turns out, when we say hold the phone away from your head, we don't mean put it down into your pants pocket or belt clip.
Of course, that's what a lot of men (and women) tend to do when using a Bluetooth set. Yet the Environmental Working Group has reported ten studies (involving humans) that have so far managed to identify physical changes in sperm when exposed to cell phone radiation.
According to the organization, "several studies have found lower sperm count and/or poorer sperm quality in men who use their phones this way than in those who do not."
At the same time, researchers aren't sure what about the exposure would cause the drop, but many studies showed that the effect is greater with higher exposure. In addition, laboratory studies show similar results in rats, rabbits and other animals.
Ready to make a change for the sake of your fertility? Maybe it would be best to carry around a man-purse, after all.
